God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
– 1JOHN 4:8-10
When we we have a revelation of God’s Love for us, it unlocks the Word of God. It will help us to interpret it right.
It is “not that we love God”, He is the one that initiated it all, when He sent His Son for us while we were yet sinners, and “ He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” ALL THINGS.
When we have trouble or sickness comes against us, we can easily think we must have disappointed God somehow and that He is briefly taking His hand and His shield off our lives, so the hardship we experience will get us back in line. That is not the case!
Jesus said, “the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”: it is the thief, the enemy that comes to steal our health and to bring destruction. God does not send us misfortune, tragedy or sickness under ANY circumstances.
He loves us and by sending Jesus He made a way for us to come boldly to the throne of grace even in the midst of our mistakes and worst messes; and to be able to have a wonderful, abundant life.
