“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” – JOHN 3:6
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. All things have passed away, behold all things are become new.” – 2. Korinthians 5:17
According to the above verse, everything becomes new. Everything.
How can this be? Does it mean that after we are born again, our life will be perfect in every way? Of course not. It talks about our spirit, that is what comes to life.
We each have a body and also a soul (our thought life, emotions, our personality). These are the parts of us that we are all aware of on a continual basis. The Bible, however talks about us as three part beings: “May your whole spirit, soul and body be preseved blameless”.
When we get born again, we become God’s children through accepting Jesus and also the citizens and heirs of God’s Kingdom. This experience itself might or might not go with any special emotions, but whether we feel anything or not, we become possessors of so many amazing benefits! These get deposited in our spirit to start with.
God will always look at us and treat us based on this new identity in our spirit, created accoding to God, in true righteousness. The Bible says that we get “sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise who is the guarantee of our inheritance“, so it does not only last till our next mistake or sin. We will still blow it at in the flesh, and more times than we would like to admit it. However, this does not influence our spirit which gets sealed by God at the time of our being born again. God will never look at our mistakes, in His eyes we “become the righteousness of God in Him“. He sees us as His beloved children, and based on what got deposited in our spirit: prosperious, peaceful and joyful, full of wisdom and healed.
